Apple Tree's Security
At Apple Tree your child is our FIRST priority and that is why at our center we do not mind taking extra steps to ensure your child’s safety.
Building:
- All entrances and exits to our facility have a video surveillance system in use and we are also equipped with an electronically secured door system- all visitors including parents who enter and exit the center do so by using this system.
- Security cameras are throughout the interior and exterior of the building and on the playgrounds.
- Secure check in and monitored entrance with the Director’s office located right by the front door.
- Voice/Intercom system throughout the center.
Parents/Guardians/Visitors:
- Parents sign their child in and out on a daily basis- They also check in with their child’s teacher on arrival and dismissal. This is a very important procedure at our center which provides a safe and secure environment.
- We only release a child to people other than parents or guardians whose names are on the pre-approved “Permission to Release Form” and all pick-ups and unknown faces will be required to have photo identification.
- All visitors to our center must sign in on our “Visitors Sign in Sheet”.
Teachers:
- All of our Teachers are certified in First Aid & CPR. Head Teachers can administer medications.
- All of our Teachers have had a full background check and fingerprinting done and are on file with the State.
- As a high quality childcare provider, our teachers are hired and trained to always provide the most comprehensive and supportive care possible and have the knowledge, patience, love and understanding for the age of the children in which they care for.
- All of our Teachers are required to further their education by taking extra continuing education courses in early childhood or other related topics to the field.
- Most of our Head Teachers and Teachers have been with us for 6 years plus…..
Classrooms:
- Our classrooms are clean, big, bright and airy. They provide a safe environment for the children to learn, discover and explore, with age-appropriate toys right at the children’s level. All classrooms have easy accessible and see-through windows providing an extra level of security and our teacher to child ratios are kept to ensure safety within the classrooms.
- Each age group has their very own classrooms; we never mix infants with toddlers together- like some schools do.
Outdoor / Indoor Play Areas:
- We have 3 very large outdoor play areas- (that exceed State regulations), which are all fenced in and are all equipped with the age-appropriate materials that are needed for each age group, climbers, slides, riding toys, balls, playhouses etc. which will help the children develop their large and small gross motor skills.
- Our outdoor areas have a ground covering of rubber mulch providing the children with a safer and softer ground surface to play on while they are running and climbing on the outdoor equipment.
- “Apple Tree’s KIDS Play Zone” - It’s our New state of the art 800 square foot indoor play area. It has a great dinosaur theme and rubber matted flooring for a great level of protection for the children whether they are climbing on the dinosaurs structures or climbing and sliding down the slides.
Fire Extinguishers / Drills:
- Our center has fire extinguishers located at each entrance and exit and regular fire drills are done to teach the children and teachers about safety in a quick and timely manner- if we should ever have to vacate the building.
- Our center has emergency lighting, manual fire pull stations, with heat and smoke detectors for an extra level of security.
