Our Outdoor Areas are considered an extension of our classrooms. They provide a great opportunity for exciting learning experiences. The range and the arrangement of the equipment in the playgrounds have been specifically selected for the particular age group in which it is intended for; each piece has been carefully selected so your child can experience a lot of different aspects physically and mentally.
Each ground surface has a covering of “Rubber Mulch” - this is a great material for the children to have while playing, jumping, and climbing on. This material not only protects the children at a higher level than the normal ground covering, but it is a softer and a safer ground surface for the children to play on and not to mention that the children love to roll around on it.
The children's small and large gross motor skills are being enhanced while climbing on climbers, sliding down slides, running, throwing, kicking a ball, playing soccer, basketball, jumping rope, building a sandcastle in the sandboxes, or just having fun watching the children's imagination grow by selling pretend ice cream and lemonade from one of the many play houses that are provided in the areas. There are also picnic tables for the occasional outside lunch or snack on a nice day.
Our Outdoor areas here at Apple Tree are not only extensions of our classrooms but are also great areas for the children to play and get out the extra energy that every growing child has!
