Apple Tree's Preschool Program
“Additional Touches” to the Preschool Classroom environment:
- Many large bulletin boards - these boards display the children’s art work, they send valuable messages to parents and the children to show them that we take pride in their creations and that their efforts and products are valued to us.
- Hands-on learning environment - children can select developmentally and age-appropriate materials from easy accessible shelves; this enhances the children to be more independent which will help to build confidence and self-esteem.
- Outdoor Area - provides the children with a lot of physical as well as mental development. Helping with their large and small gross motor skills. Children can climb up and slide down on the climbers, run, throw and kick balls, play basketball, soccer, jump rope, go in and out of play houses etc. And our outdoor area has been covered with rubber mulch - so the children have a softer and safer ground surface for them to play on.
- Apple Tree’s KIDS Play Zone - This is our 800 square foot indoor play area. This area is great on inclement weather days, as an extra music room or even as an exercise room - the possibilities are endless. This room has a great and friendly dinosaur theme, with rubber matted flooring, climbers and slides, fun theme tents and dinosaurs to climb on.
- Monthly items - Calendars, Guides and Newsletters are handed out to parents to keep them informed on special dates and up coming events at the center.
- Daily Reports - Written communication between parents and Teachers about their child’s day while they were at Apple Tree, what they enjoyed doing, activities they were involved in etc. These reports are provided for the parents on a day to day basis - they give you a great way to ask questions and to communicate with your child.
